Movie reviews
I know I've been a real slacker when it comes to posting, but lately it's just work, work, work and the only thing I make time for is to read the news and sometimes keep up with my friend's page. Over the last two weekends however, I have broken with my routine and gone and seen two movies. Since this is such an odd occurance, I thought I would share with you my reviews; first the good review; Pan's Labrynth. What a really good movie. It was a fantasy, but a really really dark one set during the Spanish cival war. I would highly recomend it to anyone who gets off on the visually rich movies, and anyone who doesn't mind subtitles (unless of course you speak Spanish). If you are like me though, bring a tissue for the end. And don't let anyone catch you crying, no matter how many people sniffling you may hear you will still be mocked if there are still tears in your eyes when the lights come up. and the bad review; Epic Movie. What a fetid, steaming pile of crap. I expected it to be kinda bad, but in a funny way. But I don't think I laughed more than once during the entire movie, and I was laughing at something that hadn't even been meant to be funny. It was so weak that I considered demanding my money back... Save your money. Smacking your own head into a wall repeatedly will be more entertaining than this total shit convention. Clerks 2
So, I just heard on the radio that Joel Siegel got up and stormed out of Clerk's 2 during the 'donkey' scene. I think that's the funniest thing I've heard all morning. I'm SO going to this movie. Maybe twice. Current Mood: amused | | Tuesday, June 27th, 2006 | | 2:24 pm |
really excited!
Ok, so I'm kind of a dork, but I'm really excited about the new Superman movie. I'm looking online to try to find an IMAX theatre showing it nearby. I have a local theatre that will be sure to have it, but I really want to see it on a movie screen the size of the moon. On another note; Two movies I saw last week that get the emphatic thumbs up- An Inconvienient Truth. I went expecting to be bored out of my mind, but found it to be a really well done movie that I will recommend to everyone! Who knew Al Gore had a sence of humor???? The Notorious Betty Page. I had nothing to do Saturday evening, so I hit this tiny little artsy theatre on campus and saw this on a whim. It was a really well done movie. The actress, Gretchen somebody-or-other, was absolutly drop dead gorgeous. If I could have her, I'd switch to the other team in a heartbeat. This has been another waste of your time movie review moment. Current Mood: dorky | | Thursday, June 1st, 2006 | | 3:08 pm |

The interview meme
1. What was your favorite weapon in Resident Evil 4? (Mine? Rifle. Sniping zombies and 'Moby's SUV' monks = Da Bomb.) The sniping rifle was a thing of joy. (sniping rifle with zoom!!!) At heart though, I'm a shotgun kinda girl. I had hoped it would be a bit stronger than it was, but when you absolutly positivly had to blow a guy off a roof... it did the job. 2. Looking forward to the Silent Hill movie? Very much so. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that it's going to be suckage-on-parade, but I DON"T CARE!!! The movie looks like it got all the biggest parts right; The psychotic nurse thingies, the holes in the floor, the oozing pulsing walls... I'm gonna be there on opening weekend like the complete dork that I am... But no, I'm not going in costume. 3. Your take on what really happened to Jack Twist: Really a tire accident, or gay-bashed? I think gay bashed. I think that he was too obvious with the guy with the hyper active wife... and someone who already suspected probably took it as all the proof they needed to kill him. 4. T-shirt you wouldn't throw away even if you couldn't wear it anymore for whatever reason? It's in my basement in a plastic bag. It's a 20+ year old tie dye with a V of huge quartz crystals painted on it. Ripped to shreds and completely unwearable, but I'll never throw it away. 5. Are you going to finish that steak? (This is Zeena's question.) Steak? Are you kidding me, my little Pom friend? This is the fat woman on a diet. It's tofu. Or something diet like that. No meat or fat or flavor. You can have all you want!!! Want to be interviewed? Current Mood: silly | | Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 | | 7:00 am |

Well, I havent been posting recently, and I just have no real excuse. Well, except for fatal frame 3, which has sucked away many an hour. I've had some time off from work and done some road trips out to visit old college friends. Everyone seems to have gotten married and had kids. Bah. Kinda hard to reminiss with someone about the 'wild days' when their kids are right there underfoot. Don't get me wrong, the kids are sweet and it was great to see different folks from the past, but it was just sureal... Current Mood: blah | | Monday, January 9th, 2006 | | 8:37 pm |

eerie Japanese lullaby
Fatal Frame 3 ownes me. I've put hours and hours into this game, and love it!! I've been playing as Kei for the last few days and it is really hard. He has NO sensitivity and the ghosts just kick his ass all over the place. I also hate the sexism that only a "man" can move the bookcase to get to the ladder. Be real, the guys is a toothpick... no way he's that much stronger than Rei. It's so typically Japanese... Other than that, not a damn thing is going on. I hate winter... depressed
So, I saw the teaser trailer for Silent Hill last night. It looked awful. I'm so damn depressed. I had such high hopes, and it really looks bad. I will still go see it anyway, because, well, ITS SILENT HILL. but I may end up wanting my $6.50 and two hours of my life back. It's a risk I'll have to take. much funnier than the Santa letter Oh Great Cthulhu!I have been an extremely industrious devotee this year. In December, I stopped enigmakat from defiling Lovecraft's grave (-20 points). Yesterday, I wore an Elder Sign (-10 points). In February, I fed finalrequiem to a Shoggoth (250 points). In April, I rescued mistful from being sacrificed (-200 points). In September, I visited my relatives in Innsmouth (100 points). In March, I defiled the grave of that traitor, Lovecraft (90 points). In short, I have been very good (210 points) and deserve to be promoted to High Priest. Your humble and obedient servant, sylver_spydrSubmit your own plea to Cthulhu! Warriooooorrrsss, come out and plaaaaaay
Indigo Prophesy annoyed me, so I opened up my Warriors game and started playing that one instead. I couldn't find a stupid book in IP, even though I had figured out exactly where it was supposed to be, and when it wasn't there proceeded to check every damn shelf... so, I decided to spend my time on wanton distruction instead. The graphics are good, up to, if not better than GTA Vice City, but I noticed that the mouths were moving kinda odd and it kept distracting me from the story... You need money for drugs and spraypaint, and to get it you rob stores, steal radios and mug people. I was embarassed to be having so much fun doing the sort of things I would never even think of doing in real life... Not that it stopped me. Current Mood: recumbent |
